Sweet Marthas Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Turn on the oven and set it to 350°F (180°C). Put some paper on your baking trays.
- In a medium bowl, mix the flour and baking soda. Keep this bowl aside.
- In a big bowl, mix the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and salt until they are soft and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the vanilla and the eggs, one by one, and mix well.
- Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, and stir until they are well mixed. Don’t stir too much; this can make the cookies hard.
- Add the chocolate chips, and mix them gently with the dough.
- Make small balls of dough with a scoop or your hands. Put them on your baking trays, and leave some space between them.
- Put the baking trays in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden on the edges but still soft in the middle. The cookies will cook a little more after you take them out of the oven, so don’t bake them too long.
- Let the cookies cool down on the baking trays for a few minutes before moving them to wire racks to cool down completely.
- Enjoy your yummy chocolate chip cookies!
